Glenn Eure’s Ghost Fleet Gallery is hosting an exhibit of paintings, drawings and 2-D design presentations by fine arts students at College of The Albemarle. Exhibiting artists include Ciarra Burnett, Jessica Canning, Connor Christman, Kitty Dough, Andrea Finn, Julia Gabitova, Sevil Gulmammadova, Darla Masiello, Keyairrah Mayo, Sharon McKennon, Kevin Moore, Lucas Norman, Brianna Orosco, Winter Simmons, Willow Stokely and Gretchen Wooten.
Titled The Great Simplicity, the show runs through December 8. Referring to the title, professor Christina Weisner, department chair of Humanities and Fine Arts, commented, “Sometimes the seemingly simplest of forms and ideas are, in fact, the most complex.” Students studied under Weisner as well as professors Patrick Berran and Fay Davis Edwards.
Pat Eure, “gallery wife” at the Eure Gallery said, “Glenn Eure always encouraged emerging artists and would have been excited about how these artists incorporated a variety of materials in their interesting compositions.”
The exhibit is available for viewing from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. For further information, call 252-441-6584.
