Floyd Arlis Hoskinson Sr., of Grandy, NC, formerly of Anmoore, WV, and Manassas, VA, passed away on November 4, 2022. He was born July 22, 1939, to Guyle Hoskinson and Lillian Hathaway Hoskinson. He was predeceased by his wife, Willa Collins Hoskinson, and his parents, and one brother, Carlton K. Hoskinson.

Floyd Sr. is survived by a son, Floyd Hoskinson Jr., a daughter, Darla Younts and her husband, Patrick Younts; five grandchildren; Marissa Younts Meyer and her husband, Timon Meyer, Cullen Younts and his wife, Samantha Younts, Lee Hoskinson and his partner, Tracy Turner, Tyler Hoskinson and his wife, Maria Berbecaru, Chase Hoskinson and his wife, Pooja Hoskinson; five great-grandchildren; Haeden Hoskinson, Walden Hoskinson, Dominic Younts, Leilani Meyer, and Isabella Younts. Floyd is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Fittro and Judy Lawson and several nieces and nephews.

Floyd graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1957. He was active in the sports programs where he excelled in baseball, basketball, and football. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Grandy with Reverend Dr. Ken “Rob” Robinson officiating. At his request Floyd’s body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Please share words of comfort with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com.
