Rep. Bobby Hanig receives Pamlico Community College’s 2022 Extraordinary Partnership Award

Dr. Jim Ross, president of Pamlico Community College, recently presented Rep. Bobby Hanig with the school’s 2022 Extraordinary Partnership Award.
The college recognized Hanig’s dedication to the school and hard work in his efforts in Raleigh to strengthen Pamlico Community College and especially his efforts to grow and strength the education programs for offenders at Pamlico Correctional Institution, according to a press release announcing the award.
“Rep. Hanig is an outstanding public servant who has been an extraordinary champion for our college,” said Ross. “We have asked him to help lead vital initiatives to advance our college, and in every single case he has pursued these with tireless energy, determination, and integrity until victory is achieved. He is responsible for monumental achievements for our college and those we serve.”
“Pamlico Community College offers a prison education system to help prepare offenders to be productive citizens after their release,” stated the release. “This program has received statewide praise for being a great model for prison education systems. Rep. Hanig was involved in helping to grow this program.”
“I am honored to be recognized by Pamlico Community College for my work at the General Assembly,” said Hanig, R – Currituck, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico. “They are a great asset to our community and work hard to make our area a better place, I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with them.”
Hanig is only the fourth person or organization to receive this award.
