Elizabeth City man, Edenton woman facing drug charges following Kill Devil Hills traffic stop, search of hotel rooms

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrests of an Elizabeth City man and an Edenton woman for drug charges following a traffic stop in Kill Devil Hills.
According to a DCSO press release, on May 5, 2022 at around 11:41 p.m., deputies working the A District conducted a traffic stop near Ocean Bay Blvd. and Virginia Dare Trail in Kill Devil Hills.
“During the stop a Dare County Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and several items of drug paraphernalia were located and seized,” stated the release.
After further investigation, deputies obtained a search warrant for two rooms at a Kill Devil Hills hotel. During the search of the rooms, deputies located and seized crack cocaine and more drug paraphernalia, stated the release.
Shawn Christopher Elliot, 44, of Elizabeth City, was charged with felony possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and was released on a $100,000 secured bond.
Olivia Donna-Louise Fontenot, 32, Edenton, was charged with felony possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance and was released on a $15,000 secured bond.
