Dare County Sheriff’s Office releases April felony crime blotter

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office blotter for April 2022 has been released. The blotter indicates felony crimes committed in unincorporated Dare County.
In the report, Colington was the location of four crimes, Wanchese had two crimes and Roanoke Island, Avon and Buxton had one each.
April 3: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 400 block of Harbour View Dr., Colington. Multiple pairs of shoes stolen from a residence. Under investigation.
Larceny of Dog. 200 block of Brothers Lane, Wanchese. Dog did not return home and owner believes it was stolen. Under investigation.
April 8: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 100 block of Island Dr., Colington. Fishing rods stolen from a shed. Under investigation.
April 9: Financial Card Fraud. 100 block of Craigy Court, Colington. Telephone scam that resulted in victim’s financial card being compromised. Suspect believed to be overseas.
April 15: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 100 block of Airport Rd., Roanoke Island. Money stolen from unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.
April 16: Obtaining Property by False Pretense. 100 block of Tall Pines Court, Colington. Victim sent unknown person money on gift cards as part of a Facebook scam. Under investigation.
April 24: Larceny of Motor Vehicle. 3000 block of Mill Landing Rd., Wanchese. Moped stolen from a barn.
April 26: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 41000 block of NC 12 Hwy, Avon. iPad stolen from unlocked vehicle.
Larceny. 47000 block of NC 12 Hwy, Buxton. Money stolen from account. Under investigation.
