Three-day Christmas in Aurora: Holliday Style event kicks off Friday

The Christmas in Aurora: Holliday Style celebration features three days of events from Friday, December 10 through Sunday, December 12. The weekend is named for and dedicated to Candace Holliday, a longtime supporter of Aurora.

Kicking off the festivities, the new community-funded Christmas tree at the Water Tower will be lit Friday as part of an event that starts at 5:30 p.m. with emcee Jeff Adelette, Mayor Williams, the Christmas story presented by St. Peter’s pastoral staff and a singalong. From 6:15-7:30 p.m., attendees can participate in the Main Street stroll, Christmas story at the library, photos with Santa, music, singing, hot chocolate, s’mores and treats.

A craft fair and small business expo will be held at the Community Center on the corner of Pearl and Third streets on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m.

A barbecue lunch fundraiser will be held Sunday at the Aurora Fire and Rescue Department from 11 a.m. until sold out. This is the department’s major fundraiser of the year to help the team of volunteers that works to create a safer place for Aurora/Richland Township residents.

The weekend’s finale will be the Aurora Christmas Parade, to be held Sunday at 3 p.m. on Main Street.

Christmas in Aurora: Holliday Style is hosted by the Aurora/Richland Township Chamber of Commerce.
