In Dare County, the number of new COVID-19 cases and the percent of positive tests to total tests both decreased this past week. Dare County continues to experience widespread community transmission of the COVID-19 virus and remains in CDC’s highest Level of Community Transmission of the virus, reports the county’s Division of Public Health.
On Nov. 9, 56 active cases of coronavirus were reported, down from 64 on Friday. Three people from Dare County were hospitalized with the virus, same as last week. Some 53 residents are in home isolation.
On Nov. 9, Dare County reported that one hospitalized resident died, bring the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Dare County to 22.
Those vaccinated with one shot make up 71 percent of the population eligible or 26307 people; those fully vaccinated represent 68 percent or 25,221 people.
