Scuppernong River Festival to welcome Miss North Carolina Carli Batson as special guest

Carli Batson, Miss North Carolina, will be a special guest at the Scuppernong River Festival on October 9 in Columbia, Tyrrell County.
Batson is a native of Wilmington and is a senior at Appalachian State University. She is pursuing a bachelor of science in communications with a minor in theatre. She is focusing her reign on raising funds for performing arts venues and financially challenged performers affected by the pandemic.
She will compete later this year in the 100th Miss America Pageant.
