The Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation 5K is going virtual again this year.
Normally held on the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend, this year participants have the option of running the 5K at any time between 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Runners get to pick where to run the 5K, whether through a neighborhood, a favorite park, around the track at the local school or down the beach.
If a 5K is a little too far, consider the One-Mile Fun Run.
The Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation is requesting photos of participants in the 2021 Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation Virtual 5K and One-Mile Fun Run.
The cost of this event is $35 for the 5K and $20 for the One-Mile Fun Run. For groups of four or more, a discounted rate of $30 per person is offered. The price includes this year’s Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation 5K t-shirt, which will be available for local pick-up. Shipping is also available for t-shirts.
