First responders reported to the scene of wreck late Wednesday afternoon on Hwy. 158 in Currituck County, south of the high school in the Coinjock area.

According to the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office, a truck went off the roadway, striking the power pole and knocking it down far enough to hit another vehicle in the windshield area.

No major injuries have been reported as of shortly after 5 p.m., “however it is still a working accident,” stated CCSO.

Dominion Energy reported that 834 customers were temporarily without power.

CCSO and fire personnel are handing the scene along with Dominion and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
