Katharine Anne “Katie” Conte died June 18, 2021 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Katie was born July 21, 1979 in Alexandria, Va. Having enjoyed summer vacations with family in the Outer Banks for 30 years, Katie chose to spend her final months there when she entered hospice.

She is survived by parents Jane M. (Feeney) Cleary and Kenneth D. (Kim) Conte; stepfather Brian Cleary (Thien Ngo; children Stephanie N. Flores, Amanda L. Villagran, Pvt. Robert K. Miller, Donovan A. Miller and Adam A. Solloa; granddaughter Hailie M. Flores; brothers Kevin A. Cleary and Joseph J. Cleary; grandparents Col. Ronald D. Conte, USA, (Ret). and James L. and Mary K. (Crossen) Feeney; step-grandmothers Heidi Conte and Catherine Conte; as well as other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandmother Marilynn C. (Broyles) Conte; step-grandfather Lee Ellingham; great-grandmother Catherine M. (Haase) Crossen; great-grandmother Mildred (Davis) Conte; great-grandfather Clement W. Crossen; step-great-grandmother Helen (Konolige) Broyles; and former mother-in-law Shirley Jones.
