Interstate 85 Welcome Center, rest area near Virginia state line closed for renovations

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has closed a pair of facilities along Interstate 85 near the Virginia state line for renovations, according to a press release from NCDOT.

The Welcome Center on I-85 South in Warren County and the rest area on I-85 North in Granville County closed Tuesday, April 13 for renovations that are expected to take up to 12 weeks to complete.

NCDOT plans to reopen the facilities in time to accommodate travelers for the July 4 holiday weekend, the release stated.
