Elizabeth Austin Midgett, 90, of Hatteras, died March 31, 2021 surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Kitty Hawk.

A native of Hatteras Island, she was born September 8, 1930 to the late Ellen Peele Austin and Luther Lathan Austin.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Midgett was preceded in death by husband Stockton “Stocky” Midgett; and brother Lathan Austin.

She is survived by daughter Libby Ann Snearer (Elwood Everett); sons Ted Midgett (Beth), Tim Midgett (Trisha) and Richie Midgett (Cheryl Warren); fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on May 8 at Oden Cemetery in Hatteras.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hatteras United Methodist Church General Fund, PO Box 310, Hatteras, NC 27943.
