Roy Celdon Davis, 60, of Brookings, Ore., died February 3, 2021 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, Ore.

Roy was born December 23, 1960, to John Davis and Nelda Williams (Francis) in Elizabeth City. He grew up in Manteo, moved to Phoenix, Ariz., then back to Manteo his senior year of high school. After graduating from Manteo High School in 1979, he lived with his grandparents and worked as a deckhand on fishing boats. Roy eventually moved to Oregon. He was a fishing captain, deckhand, carpenter, shipwright, marine insurance surveyor and port commissioner.

Roy is survived by mother Nelda Williams; sons Chase Davis, Kit Nagy and Chance Adams; sister Grace Summerhays; brother-in-law Chris Summerhays; and nephew Matthew Summerhays. He was preceded in death by stepfather Kit Williams Jr.
