North Carolina woman indicted in husband’s shooting death
A North Carolina woman has been indicted in the death of her husband during a domestic dispute last summer, officials said.
Valinda Leggett, 55, was indicted by a grand jury on Feb. 10 on an open count of murder in connection with the death of Gregory Leggett, 59, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said Gregory Leggett was shot once in the chest at his home in Washington on July 3. Deputies said the couple had been arguing, and added that Valinda Leggett was cooperating with investigators.
A judge set her bond at $50,000. It’s not known if she has an attorney.
