Applications are being accepted for the first Annual Chowder Banks Fest chowder tasting. The chowder tasting is part of the new Chowder Banks Fest hosted by the Outer Banks Seafood Festival board of directors. The tasting will determine will be named the best chowder on the beach.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 24 at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head. Chowder participants agree to provide 10 gallons of their best seafood chowder for the tasting. There is no entry fee.

Applications are available at www.outerbanksseafoodfestival.org, the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, 101 Town Hall Drive in Kill Devil Hills or by contacting Karen Brown at the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce at 441-8144. Spots are limited. Deadline for entries is April 10 or until all spaces are filled.
