Fifty-two additional COVID-19 cases reported in Dare County

On Friday evening, January 1, the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services reported receiving notification of 52 additional COVID-19 test results.
According to information from DCDHHS, a total of 1686 positive COVID-19 test results have been recorded since reporting began. Of that total, 804 cases are male and 882 are female; 201 are age 17 and under, 228 age 18-24, 641 age 25-49, 394 age 50-64 and 222 age 65 and older.
Of the total number of cases reported by DCDHHS, 1113 are county residents. Of those, 950 are reported to be recovered/asymptomatically cleared and 157 are active positive cases with 12 hospitalized and 145 in home isolation. Five COVID-19 deaths and one death from other (non-COVID) death have been reported.
Of the 573 reported non-resident cases, 459 are reported to be recovered/asymptomatically cleared, 113 have transferred isolation to home county and one is hospitalized.
