Virtual meeting on Rodanthe Bridge set for Thursday

State transportation officials are inviting local residents and others to a virtual information meeting Thursday, Dec. 3 on the ongoing Rodanthe Bridge project.

The bridge, which is currently under construction on the Outer Banks, is a long-term transportation solution for NC 12.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is raising the highway onto a 2.4-mile bridge that extends over Pamlico Sound between the southern end of the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge and Rodanthe.

The bridge is due for completion in late 2021.

The virtual meeting will be held beginning at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3. During the meeting, NCDOT officials and project engineers will provide an update on the project’s progress and answer questions.

To join the meeting from your computer, tablet or smartphone, go to: gotomeeting.com/join/603113213.

People may listen to the audio portion of the meeting by calling 1-408-650-3213. When prompted, use the access code 603-113-213.

Comments can be submitted during the meeting by calling 1-855-925-2801, entering project code 8679 and leaving a message. Participants may also submit comments by chat box during the meeting.
