Early voting now underway

Early voting allows any registered voter to cast an absentee ballot in person on select days prior to Election Day, which is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020.

Those not registered may register when they vote during early voting.

Early voting allows registered voters to vote at any early voting site in a county.

On Election Day, registered voters can only vote at their specific precinct.

Dare County Early Voting locations and schedule

Early voting for the 2020 General Election began on Oct. 15 at three locations:

– Dare County Administration Building: 954 Marshall C. Collins Dr., Manteo, NC 27954

– Kill Devil Hills Town Hall Commissioners Meeting Room: 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948

– Cape Hatteras Secondary School Auditorium: 48576 NC 12, Buxton, NC 27920

In Dare County, the sites are open on weekdays from Oct. 15 through Oct. 30 from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Saturdays, Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The last day of early voting is Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hyde County locations and schedule

In Hyde County, the early voting site is the Board of Elections site in the Public Safety Building, 1223 Main St., Swan Quarter, NC 27885

The site is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Oct. 15 through Oct. 30 and on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For Ocracoke, the early voting site is the Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department, 822 Irvin Garrish Hwy., Ocracoke, NC 27960 on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Currituck County location and schedule

In Currituck County, the location for early voting this year is Currituck County Judicial Building, Courtroom “C,” 2801 Caratoke Highway, Currituck, NC 27929.

The site is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Oct. 15 through Oct. 30, Saturdays Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tyrrell County location and schedule

In Tyrrell County, the location for early voting is in the courthouse at 403 Main St., Columbia, NC 27925. The site is open weekdays from Oct. 15 to Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturdays Oct. 17 and 24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
