Allen Scott Perry, 57, of Manteo passed away unexpectedly September 11, 2020 in Chesapeake, VA. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Windy Lee Perry; a daughter, Jennifer Perry; three stepchildren, Jeffrey Champlin (Ashley), Ashleigh Dillon (Anthony) and Schae Wells (Lee); six grandchildren, Luke, Joey, Jade, Penelope, Addison, and Jaxon; two sisters, Kim Ward and Tami Robinson; and a brother, Michael Perry (Lisa). He also leaves behind two close friends, James Phelps and Scott Haywood, along with a host of family, friends, and co-workers. Scott is preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Tink Scarborough and brother Kenny Perry.
In Scott’s early years, he enjoyed fishing with his parents. He loved the water and had an appreciation for boats. Scott became an avid boat builder. He loved what he did and took great pride in his work. Working for Buddy Davis, Blackwell Boatworks and Croswait Composites, he became a true asset the boat building community.
Scott was kind and outspoken. He was always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand and go above and beyond when asked. He truly cherished his family, friends, coworkers, and community. He will be missed by all, especially his wife Windy. They enjoyed many hours walking on the beach and were always having fun adventures together.
Windy has planned a gathering of remembrance for Scott at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the base of the Old Manns Harbor Bridge. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Scott are asked to consider a donation towards his final expenses by calling Gallop Funeral Services at 252-216-8030.
