Arrests listed on the blotter are:

Assault: On June 10, 2020, officers received a call about a disturbance in the 2000 block of Yorktown Street. Upon arrival, the blotter states officers spoke with individuals on scene who had assaulted each other. Warrants for arrests of both offenders were later issued based on the injuries of both parties involved.

Assault: On June 14, 2020, officers received a call to the 1300 block of Devonshire Road for a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, officers arrested one offender for assault.

Assault with a deadly weapon: On June 23, 2020, officers received a call about a domestic in progress in the 1600 block of Sir Walter Raleigh Road. Upon arrival, the blotter states that officers spoke with juveniles in the home and viewed evidence leading to the arrest of an individual in the home. The offender was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, child abuse, failure to store firearms, and discharging a firearm in an enclosed dwelling.

Cases listed on the blotter are:

June 23, 2020: A woman with intense gephyrophobia (fear of bridges) requested the department’s help to return home. Kill Devil Hills officers drove the woman’s car over the Virginia Dare and Alligator River bridges, at which point she was able to drive the rest of the way herself.

June 26, 2020: An 80 year old man walking on NC 12 became disoriented due to heat and a fall. He was unable to find the residence where he was staying with his family. A Kill Devil Hills officer drove around the area with the man until he was able to recognize the place he was staying.

June 29, 2020: A cochlear implant was found by law enforcement in the area of Clark St. Beach Access. The device was taken to a local doctor’s office, the manufacturer notified and owner information looked up to potentially return the device.
