John Marvin Sasser Jr., 90, of Nags Head, died May 29, 2020. He was born on May 28, 1930 to John Marvin and Mae Sasser in Rocky Mount. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by sisters Annie Lucy and Mae Joyner.

John graduated from Benvenue High School. He was an apprentice carpenter for Joyner contracting in Rocky Mount and later moved to Maryland, where he worked as a foreman for Lormack Corporation. Six years later he purchased Lormack Corporation changing its name to Quad Con Associates. In 1985 he along with his longtime business partner started Twi Oil Company. Upon retirement, John and his wife Betsy moved to the Outer Banks.

John was was a Deacon and Elder in his church and taught Sunday School.

John is survived by wife Betsy of Nags Head, daughter Patrice Curtiss (Kevin) of Smith Mountain Lake, Va., Reba Sasser of Fulton, Md., son John Sasser of Fulton and daughter Phyllis Fick of Nags Head; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
