Nan Lou Little Brown, 95, of Virginia Beach, Va. and longtime resident of Manteo, died May 21, 2020 at the Commonwealth Senior Living at King’s Grant House.

Born in Winterville on April 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Cora Branch and Charles F. Little.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Adrian E. Brown Jr., son Adrian E. Brown III, brother James and wife Delores, brother Charlie and wife Lib; and sister Ruth and husband Jim.

Surviving are son Charles M. Brown and wife Beverly, son Kim Brown and wife Julie; daughter-in-law Beverly Brown; and many grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

After earning her degree from East Carolina University, Nan was a schoolteacher, retiring after 30 years.

She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She often competed in the Outer Banks Senior Games.

A private family funeral will be held. Entombment will take place at Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens.
