Recreation striped bass harvest reporting requirements

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-21-2020 implements tagging and reporting requirements for recreational striped bass harvest from the Atlantic Ocean (Ocracoke Inlet to the North Carolina/Virginia state line) from May 1 through October 31, 2020.

The proclamation maintains for recreational striped bass the existing harvest slot limit of 28 inches to less than 35 inches total length and one fish per person daily possession limit.

Surf anglers and those arriving after North Carolina Striped Bass Reporting Station office hours may contact the Division of Marine Fisheries 24-hour toll free number 800‑682‑2632 or 252‑726‑7021 to report their catch. A verification number will be provided to the vessel operator, captain or surf angler to keep for reporting compliance purposes.
