Southern Bank has announced that Susan C. Clissold has been promoted to senior vice president and commercial lender in Kitty Hawk.

A Winston-Salem native, Clissold received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has been in the banking industry for 29 years.

Clissold serves as secretary on the Outer Banks Relief Foundation Board of Directors.

Clissold currently resides in Southern Shores. She has two children, George and Caroline. She attends All Saints Episcopal Church in Southern Shores.
