North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-15-2020 opens the recreation cobia season in Coastal Fishing Water on May 1, 2020. The season remains open until Dec. 31, 2020.

Size limit is 36 inches or above fork length. Creel limit is one cobia per person per day.

For private vessels, those not engaged in for-hire operation, the limit is two cobia per vessel per day or one per day if only one person is on board from May 1 to May 31. From June 1 through Dec.  31, 2020, the limit is one cobia per day.

For-hire vessels are limited to four cobia per day or one cobia per person per day, if fewer than four people are on board. The limit runs from May 1 through Dec. 31, 2020.
