Carol June Windom Waters, 81, of Roper, died March 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by loving family.

Born in Nicholas County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles George and Audra Brown Windom. She was married to William Lloyd “Billy” Waters Sr., who survives.

She was a faithful member of the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene for over 70 years, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and held various church positions.

Mrs. Waters worked for the Washington County Public School System for over thirty years as an elementary school teacher and prior to her retirement was the Washington County reading supervisor. She was an avid fan of her alma mater East Carolina University.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on March 15 at the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Edgar Masencup Pastor Steve Creech will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot at Hillside Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her husband, surviving are son William Lloyd “Bill” Waters Jr. and wife Beth of Roper; granddaughters Paula Rountree, Hailie Waters and Darby Waters as well as other family members.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene.

Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, Plymouth.
