Bridger Catfish Newman the cat shared time with fans at a book signing in Manteo.

Bridger, a new book written by local author Jeremy Bliven with photos by Reece Newman, is the story of Bridger, the young kitten rescued by Newman after the kitten was thrown from a speeding vehicle at the old Manns Harbor bridge into the waters of Croatan Sound.

The book is written from Bridger’s perspective of the rescue and life with the Newman family that adopted him.

The book signing took place at Downtown Books on Saturday, December 14.
