To the Editor:

I cannot speak for Manteo, but as a Dare citizen for 42 years I recognize the wisdom of departed Manteo leaders who persisted in connecting Roanoke Island, and later all of Dare County to the mainland by bridges. They had the foresight to have bridges that go both ways.
