The Southern Shores Police Department has announced arrests on felony charges related to a 2018 overdose death.

According to information from the Southern Shores Police Department, officers responded to an overdose death of a 26 year old male at a residence located on Duck Woods Drive in Southern Shores on October 29, 2018.

After an extensive investigation, the Southern Shores Police Department has charged Jake Garland Hodges, 30, of Rodanthe, and Jessica Marcedes Baudeloque, 28, of Kill Devil Hills, with involuntary manslaughter and the sale and delivery of heroin in connection to this overdose death. Both subjects have been arrested and placed under $75,000 bonds.

The Southern Shores Police Department expressed thanks to the Nags Head Police Department for their assistance in this case.
