Vu Duong of Greenwood, Ind. flashes a big grin after catching, photographing and releasing this big red drum while bottom fishing off the end of Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head.

The northeast winds from Humberto kicked up big surf last Wednesday and red drum seem to love unsettled seas. Red drum are North Carolina’s official state fish.
