According to Hyde County officials, they are planning to evacuate anyone that needs to leave by air to a shelter in Washington County. They will have food, power and medical needs available there. If you wish to leave start preparing now. They will release times to go to the airport when they are available. If you are planning to evacuate the island, please call the Hyde County EOC at 252-926-3715 so they can attempt to get an accurate head count.
