The Columbia branch of BB&T Bank recently chose the Tyrrell County Senior Adult Activity Center as this year’s recipient of the firm’s Lighthouse Project.

Cynthia Bockelman, team leader at BB&T’s Columbia branch, presented the center with two all-in-one computers and a printer for use by the center participants.

Having these devices on hand will allow computer basics workshops to be conducted and they will be available for use by those older individuals who are already adept in their computer skills.

The Lighthouse Project, which began in 2009, is an annual community service effort to help address some of the needs of BB&T communities, Bockelman stated.

“A big thank you to Columbia BB&T!” said Dee Dee Bullock, senior center director.
