It took only eight seconds for three robbers – two of them armed with guns – to rush into La Mision Store in Manteo and make off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The armed robbery happened shortly after the store had closed on Monday, March 25.

According to police, the three suspects, described as African American males dressed in all black clothing with faces covered, dashed into the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. They fled on foot seconds later.

Although the store closed at 9 p.m., the clerk had not locked the front door. The clerk was not harmed.
