Help Cape Hatteras Secondary with oyster shells

Published 8:44 am Saturday, March 9, 2019

Cape Hatteras Secondary School of Coastal Studies is in the process of rebuilding its research oyster reef using the oyster rack method, which entails attaching oysters to a rack before placing in Pamlico Sound waters.

Students need the community’s assistance to help make the operation a success.

Used oyster shells are requested to continue the project. Shell collection points are designated bins located at Oden’s Dock, Frisco Rod and Gun, or at the school’s bus parking lot.
