The Manteo Police Department has released the name of the man whose body was recovered last Wednesday from the water by the docks at the Shallowbag Bay Club and Marina in Manteo.

Manteo Police Chief Vance Haskett identified the deceased as 27 year old Forrest Davis Ragland. Ragland was from West Virginia and lived on a sailboat at the marina were his body was found.

Police are awaiting toxicology reports from the state medical examiner before determining the cause of death. Until the investigation is complete, police won’t release other details surrounding the death, but say at this point there is no indication the public is at risk.
