Felony charges in Jersey Mike’s B&E

On October 27 at 01:53 a.m., the Southern Shores Police Department was dispatched to Jersey Mike’s sub shop in Southern Shores regarding an alarm going off at the business.
According to information released by SSPD, upon arrival officers discovered the front door had been smashed in. While searching the area, officers spotted a vehicle leaving and asked officers from Kitty Hawk Police Department for assistance in stopping the vehicle.
Officers from KHPD stopped the car and after further investigation, one occupant from the vehicle, Vashon James II, 18, of Kill Devil Hills, was arrested by officers from Southern Shores and charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and misdemeanor damage to property. Charges are pending against another occupant of the vehicle at this time.
Officers with Dare County Sheriff’s Office, Kill Devil Hills Police Department and Duck Police Department also assisted securing the scene and with the investigation.
