A new Dollar Tree store taking over space occupied by the old Rite Aid in Kill Devil Hills is scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 4.
The company is in the process of moving the 5,600-square-foot store in the Dare Centre to the new 13,824-square-foot building at 2014 South Croatan Highway, said Dollar Tree spokeswoman Kayleigh Painter.
The new location will include Dollar Tree’s recently introduced “snack zone,” which offers an updated selection of cold beverages, candy and snacks.
Dollar Tree stores are open seven days a week and sell an assortment of merchandise for $1 or less.
The company operates four stores on the Outer Banks.
“Dollar Tree continues to grow and we are proud to be part of the Outer Banks community,” Painter said.
The Rite Aid formerly occupying the location near the Nags Head line closed May 14.
