Returning to pre-hurricane form the First Flight boys cross country team dominated its competition at a September 22 Virginia meet.

Grabbing first place overall, Nighthawks junior Zach Hughes toured the course at Bruton High School north of Williamsburg in 16:24.384 and was the first of six First Flight runners to finish among the top 10 places. With that effort First Flight boys dominated the seven-team meet with a winning first place score of 18 points.

In 2017 Terek Kirsch was the individual first place winner. His time of 16:46.126 led Menchville to a team title with 35 points.

Running with only five scoring runners First Flight girls placed fourth with 90 points. Madison Pugh was the first Nighthawks thinclad to finish timed at 21:23.722.

First Flight is scheduled to host a home cross country meet Saturday, September 29, with the boys running at 10 am followed by girls at 11.
