Dennis Sherwood Madaris, 71, of Edgewater Drive, Grandy, died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence.  Born in Alexandria, Virginia on March 14, 1947 to the late Charles Rivers Madaris and Daisy Sherwood Madaris, he was the husband of Pamela Bandish Madaris of the residence. Mr. Madaris was an electrician and HVAC mechanic.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dawn Lynn Madaris of Broadway, Virginia; a sister, Dale Irene Brown of Woodbridge, Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Luke, Logan, Veronica, Sean and Liam Wilkinson, Kati Faz, and Josephine Smith.  He was preceded in death by a daughter in 2004, Lisa Rene` Madaris.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at Powells Point Baptist Church, 8383 Caratoke Highway, Powells Point, with Pastor Casey Carlton officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Albemarle Hospice, 208 Hastings Lane, Elizabeth City, 27909.   Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E.
