The North Carolina Department of Transportation has reopened NC 12/Virginia Dare Trail from Atlantic Street north to Calvin Street in Kill Devil Hills after an earlier closure due to flooding.
The Town of Kill Devil Hills asks all motorists to stay off of all flooded roadways. If you can’t see the road, do not keep going. What you may think is the road, could actually be part of a stormwater drainage system.
“Our drainage system is continually working to remove stormwater from roads and private property,” the town said in a news release. “Motorists, please be patient and let the system do its job to clear our roadways – don’t travel on a flooded street or road.”
