An AT&T wireless outage appears to be impacting much of the East Coast, and it sounds like a lengthy one.

On AT&T chat, a customer service representative said the outage is due to a “technical team enhancing network services,” and that the estimated restoration time for the Outer Banks region is Friday at 2 p.m.

A regional spokeswoman for AT&T said she is looking into the issue and will get back with us.

Wireless customers lost cellular and data service Thursday morning.
