Police on lookout for boat stolen in Kill Devil Hills

Police are asking the public’s help finding a boat stolen from a home in Kill Devil Hills last week.

The 17-foot, 2008 Carolina Skiff was stolen from the 3100 block of Bay Drive between April 25 and April 26, authorities said.

The boat, with a 75 horsepower Yamaha motor, was on a 2008 Magic Tilt trailer. The boat is valued at $14,000 and the trailer at $1,500, said Kill Devil Hills police Lt. J.C. Towler, Jr.

Towler said boat thefts aren’t all that common in town, but it does happen.

“We have it happen with not alarming frequency,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dare Community Crime Line at 252-473-3111.
